Star Trek Online and Invicta

Hello everybody,

In the past week or so we have had some of our newer members apply to join our STO group so rather than pm those members individually I thought it was best to just put a general statement out there about where Invicta stands in regards to STO.

When STO first launched myself and a few other Invictans got the game, created a guild and had a go at it.I think I can speak for the others that tried it out with me when I say we were nothing but disappointed with this title. There were so many things missing that one would expect in a Star Trek title, everything in game, with a few minor exceptions, could be solo'ed,and quite frankly there was no real support or reason for guilds.

I kept the game installed on my pc for quite a while in hopes that something more would eventually be added to the game and then kept it installed a little longer when they announced that they would be going f2p(I loved the spaceship mechanics and figured if it was free I would at least log in occasionally and chill out, floating around in space).

Then I saw who Cryptic was turning the game over to for f2p.Perfect World Entertainment.I played one PWE title once and I can tell you now,I will never,EVER play another PWE title any time soon. For those of you who have no experience with PWE I can tell you they are one of the worst,if not THE worst,of the f2p gaming companies.Thier idea of f2p is pay to win,and they are really bad about it.You couldnt do anything worthwhile in game without spending a fair amount of cash in their cash shop, loot drops above greens contain no items but instead have ads for items you can get in the cash shop, and you had no chance at all in a pvp situation unless you were willing to drop an even larger amount of money in thier cash shop.Ridiculous

If I know Invictans as well as I think I do(and I think I know most of you guys pretty well),then its safe to say this is one title we will not be playing and most likely wouldnt even consider trying again unless a different company makes a Star Trek MMO.

We no longer even have a forum section for STO(and when we did it never amounted to much because we were out of that game so fast) so the only thing you would get for applying to the STO group is having your name on a list with the others who joined the STO group when it first launched. For the past few months I have systematically rejected every app to this group and will continue to do so mainly because we get a lot of spammers trying to join the STO group. If for some reason you really want your name on that STO group list then send me a pm through this site(do not apply to the group again) and I will be more than glad to add your name to it.

TLDR:STO bad,PWE badder,Invicta no play STO,Kmahn hates PWE

Anyway,I just didnt want the newer folks to think thier apps were just being ignored or rejected because of personal reasons.

Had STO collectors edition

Had STO

collectors edition at launch, was also someone disappointed with the missing aspects that would make a Star Trek game well Star Trek.  The lack of a proper representation of space combat being one of the big ones.

PWE appears to have destroyed what little hope there was for the game along with Champions Online.

I concur with the above.

To be fair, it was the people

To be fair, it was the people that made this game, not the game itself. When the RP was strong there it was amazing and some of the most fun times I've ever had, but sadly people moved on and when left with just the game, which is incredibly poor, there's no reason to stick around.

They even ruined this years holiday event

I logged on today long enough to get two jackets from the holiday event. This year to get anything at all you have to place top 3 positions in a multi-person race, find a group of people to go hunt snowmen with, or buy tons of lockboxes to get enough lobi to buy enough holiday boxes... The solo race now only gives you a free ship (if you do it 24 days out of the 30 or so it runs).
