Happy Eighth Anniversary Invicta!!

That's right, its been eight years to the day since a gang of us from WoW and SWG decided we were going to give Age of Conan pre-release a try and form Invicta. From Age of Conan to Fallen Earth to Star Trek Online (briefly) to our current guilds in Star Wars Old Republic and Secret World, its been a great eight years! Here's to many more!
We remain, as always, unconquered.
INVICTA!!

8 Years of Invicta.... SO How did y'all join the madness

8 Years of Invicta.... SO How did y'all join the madness

In my cas it was in Fallen Earth about 6 years go. I was already experinced as a playe and DM in various tabletop RPGs as fel as a couple of LARPs but I very rarely stumbled on actual RP in a mmpoRPG (o.O). Except in FE. I've met Invicta at a Radio show in Embry as a wasteland Gunrunner version of Henerkin, whil I was still very much a noob in Sector 1. I quickly made friends with Razira and Tucker there. I must have done something right in my RP because Tucker kept senting me tells to convince me to join his Taraveler crew (in FE these guys we the Outlaw/Mafia/Cartel faction). I was a bit burned outout of guilds at that time and I kept turning down the offer, I wanted more time by myself to explore and know the game better before I chose a guild. Later on on when I leveled u and was able to attend Invicta's event a weekly Bike Rally/Party/Radio Show I went there and joined the fun. I was really impressed how inclusive that event was and I really liked the concept, Invicta there was an Outlaw Motorcycle Club and the show Sons of Anarchy (which I loved) was at its peak and I've know quite a few prospects and bikers when I was still a teenager so I was familiar with the environment. I went to a couple of Ralies, got to know a few more folks like Trixie Malone, Rose Kershaw, Dan and a few others. At the end of the summer they finally coninced me to join in a scene that was pretty much like Clay Morrow takining in a prespect for the Sons, with Reaper telling Hen "Don't make me kill ya!"

Well I ain't dead yet.

Brilliant idea, Hen

Brilliant idea, Hen

I was fortunate enough to be a part of Invicta before there was an Invicta. I knew Reaper, Rose, Tereska, and Touren from SWG. I like to flatter myself and consider myself a protégé of Noctifer and Rose. When I was in SWG I was brand new to MMO style RP. I learned a lot of what to do from both of them. Not just how to roleplay, but how to be a good player.

To this day, I still call Noc by the nickname I gave him in SWG. He’ll always be Barry to me. The players that started Invicta were my friends. Not online friends, but actual friends. I loved, and continue to love, what Invicta stands for. Fun, inclusiveness, and more fun.

I love that we’re the anti-elitism guild. I love that people can join and instantly feel at home. I love that we’re the Island of Misfit Toys. We joke about being the “cool kid table”, but really, we’re the table of nerds and weirdos. I’m cool with that, because we have the best parties.

Invicta is still going strong in TOR and I’m proud to be filling Noc’s shoes there. I feel a lot of love and pride to be a part of what we’ve built in this guild, and looking forward to seeing what challenges and triumphs come our way over the next eight years.

INVICTA!

INVICTA!!!
Been with you guys, off and on, since Fallen Earth days. Many a good times. To this day, I rank you as my favorite of all the guilds I've been in. I just wish I could have met you back with SWG. I played that game from launch until the NGE.
Oh well, still buggin Noc with a new character in The Secret World now. No matter what I toss at him in RP, he always gets the "1 up" on me, to where I have to think, and rethink, and then rethink again another 'snarky attack'.
Thanks for the years.... Long live Invicta!!

INVICTA!!!!!!

INVICTA!!!!!!
I joined Invicta in the fall of 2008.My first AoC guild was friends with Invicta and thats how I got to know them.I had a very non rp name,Kariokimahn, amd tbh worried that I would run into elitist attitudes when I first hung out with you guys.I had encountered a lot of that from other guilds when I was in King's Guard.Boy was I wrong.I was immediatly welcomed, accepted, incuded, and treated with respect.I even got a few whispers from people about how much they loved my name!Well the King's Guard and Invicta had some fun times and great adventures with each other.Tehn my guild hit a rough spot.We lost our guild leader, website, and vent with no notice.Several guilds on our server reached out to help us but Invicta more so than any other. It wasnt just an offer to help with the website and vent situation but emotional support and solidarity with us.Those actions meant more to me than words can describe.Thor,Oswain,Silverboots, and myself kept the guild going for a few more months but after the whole server merge fiasco we just fell behind too many other guilds and it just became obvious to us that we had to let our members go so they could really get the most out of the game that they wanted and frankly there were other guilds that could do better by them than we were. For myself,Thor, and quite a few other members we knew there was only one other guild we could even think of joining,I've been with you guys across multiple games as everything from a regular member to leader of the STO guild and wouldnt trade a minute of that time for anything.During that time Ive also joined other guilds in other games and let me tell you not a single one of them compares to what we have here in Invicta.Aurelius/Noctifer/Reaper you did a great thing when you created this guild.Thank you.

I may not be as active these days as I was in the past, and even though I might be in another guild in another game,I will always and forever consider myself an Invcitan.

Oh jeez. Uh. Well, I know for

Oh jeez. Uh. Well, I know for a fact I found Invicta because of Golgaron. I'd taken up with a decent batch of RPers pub-side that I'm pretty sure were referred to me by a pal from SWG. Not a bad group - don't ask me who they were, I don't remember, I might if I saw 'em again but hell if I know - but I'd been hanging around on Tython one day at like three in the morning. Needless to say it wasn't easy to find decent RPers that time of day, so when Golgy and I got on well I was stoked.
The group I'd been with was REALLY die-hard canon-compliant and didn't approve of Chveya's... more ebullient personality traits. So I asked Golgy if I would be welcome in ITC, and from there I met Trixie and the gang, and was hooked.
In previous games, and earlier years, I've been part of a guild of folks that moved from game to game together, and it did not go well. If you weren't in the core group as they moved, you were basically shit out of luck. It was hell breaking loose from them, and at first I was hesitant to join on with a similar-sounding group. I've found, though, and relatively quickly, that Invicta is not the same at all.
Invicta doesn't care if you take a break. Invicta doesn't judge you for needing to leave, whatever the reason. Invicta doesn't tell you what kind of character you must play, or what game we're going to be playing next. Invicta doesn't tell me what I need to do -- I do what I need to do, and I'm Invicta all the way through it, whether I can log in or not.
I honestly have no idea what year it was that I found you all. I'd guess probably three or four years ago. What I know is this is the longest I've been with any one group, and I love the comfort I have in knowing that you are always there for me, no matter what comes up in my life. You take IRL > RP to the best place it could possibly go, and I love each and every one of you.

And we love you too! We also know you looked up the word "ebullient" just for this post.
