Adventures in Babysitting ((Anabela))

“You can’t dunk her in the hot tub!”

The words were no sooner out of her mouth than Ba’raka was already holding the girl’s little blue body at arm’s length and dipping her into the warm, bubbling water. Ana grimaced.

“Well, no one is going to want to use THAT for a while….”

“She’s not as blue as I expected.”

Raana chuckled quietly and lay back against the couch cushions, stretching out as Ana rocked Azanis in a nearby chair. She watched the pair, her mouth turning downward slightly at the look on her sister’s face as she held her newborn niece.

Awakening ((Anabela))

Characters:
Submission Type:

Ana felt like she was waking from a coma.

When you are unconscious, you dream. And sometimes you struggle to the surface, and it is hard to tell whether you are still dreaming or not. The reality blurs with the dreams and you lose touch with what is real and what is not.

Darasuum Aliit ((Anabela))

Submission Type:

Raana left Ba’raka and Tiakos standing in the hallway, staring awkwardly at one another while she gently shut the bedroom door and locked it. She gave them both a look as she ducked back inside, chuckling quietly, “Girl stuff, you boys understand.” Once the door was closed, she turned to Tara.

Tantrum ((Anabela))

Characters:
Submission Type:

Ana started when Ba’raka stepped into the room, hiding something behind her back. The room was an absolute mess, strewn with clothes EVERYWHERE. Every closet in the ship had been torn apart it seemed and he noted from the corner of his eyes that one wall seemed oddly bare. He was pretty sure something had been hanging there when he left earlier that morning. He approached, folding his arms over his chest.

“What are we doing today sweetness, playing dress up?”

Unbroken ((Anabela))

Raana paced back and forth across the hangar floor until Tiakos finally reached out a hand to stop her. Before she could jerk her arm away he tugged her in close, his open palm sliding across her round, firm belly.

“Peace cyare… she vhill be home safe soon.”

Out of Darkness ((Anabela))

Characters:
Submission Type:

"Ana... baby, please. You gotta try to eat."

He picked up a piece of bread from the tray he was carrying and offered it to her gently. She pulled her knees up to her chin, pressing her back to the headboard of the bed. She turned her head, her eyes blank as she again refused the food. He sighed, placing the bread back on the tray and scooting closer. His arm slipped around her waist and he pressed his face to her shoulder, shaking his head.

"Please," he whispered, "I don't know what else to do."

Severed ((Anabela))

Characters:
Submission Type:

Ana heard nothing once the blackness fell.

The universe winked out of existence. It was hard to describe. It was almost like floating in space, only there were no stars, no point of origin by which to navigate. Someone floating through space would still feel their body, still know who they were, have memories of the things they had done and the life they had lead.

Ghosts ((Brynn))

Characters:
Submission Type:

Sometimes Brynn regretted killing her sister.

She paced the living room of her ship, swinging her arms in agitation. She was restless, unfocused... why? Her thoughts returned to earlier and her teeth gnashed, grinding together. Inside her head came a soft, lilting chuckle.

"Driving you crazy... isn't it?"

A Little Rest ((Anabela))

Characters:
Submission Type:

"Just what the hell do you think you're doing?!"

Raka watched Ana's round ass wiggling as she dug for something deep in the couch cushions. She pulled out a candy bar wrapper and held it up to him, waving it in his face.

"This place is a pig sty," she grumbled, turning around to dig deeper. She bent until her face was flush with the floor, her arm feeling around under the couch.

Raka gave an exasperated sigh, setting the bags of groceries he had brought in on the end table. He moved up behind her, putting his hands on her hips.

Pickles & Hot Sauce ((Anabela))

Ana slapped his hand away, frowning. “We agreed we weren’t going to look until the time was up,” she murmured, irritation in her voice. Ba’raka looked at her apologetically and went back to pacing the floor behind her.

“I know, I know,” he muttered, putting his hands behind his back. He peered over her shoulder at the clock on the counter. “How much longer?”

Tacos, Again ((Anabela))

Characters:
Submission Type:

Ba’raka threw up his hands as Anabela trudge into the hangar on fleet to meet him. “… Where’s the tacos?”

She stopped dead, giving him her “are you serious?” look.

All told, she had no reason to complain. She had escaped the battle with minimal damage. Her armor was ruined and would need to be refitted, but her body had made it through with only minor scrapes and bruises. Others had not been so lucky. Her thoughts returned to the teams that had suffered serious injuries. She frowned at her Riduur, her face tired as she walked toward him.

The cold sheets tangled around their legs. It felt good against her flushed skin as she stretched languidly across Raka’s chest, tracing a line up and down his abdomen. She pressed her lips to his skin, the salty, acrid taste of sweat touching her tongue. He pushed a stray strand of hair out of her eyes, leaning down to kiss the top of her head.

Hellen did this really awesome portrait of my Anabela, so I thought I'd share. I think I want one of Nass now.

Father/Daughter Taco Night

The shuttle ride had been slow, but quiet. As she had stepped off onto the orange grasslands of Voss, the pilot had pointed her to a camp southwest of the launch pad where her mother’s future Riduur was apparently waiting for her. She gathered her robes around her ankles and walked slowly down the dirt path and up over the crest of a small hill. There were a few armor-clad soldiers milling about, a couple of sith as well. She regarded these last with wariness, giving them a wide berth.

Backstory - IC - Anabela/Raana

Betrayal (25 Years Ago):

Raana woke with a start to the sounds of shouting and blaster fire. As she struggled to shake off the heavy shroud of sleep she sat in bed. She blinked rapidly, trying to force her blurred vision to adjust to the dim lighting of the bedroom. It was only a moment before she heard heavy boot steps and the form of her father, armor-clad and poised with rifle drawn appeared in the doorway. His helmet concealed his face but it took only a slight nod and the adjustment of his weapon across his chest to convey what needed to be done.

Ana’s eyes rolled back in her head, the lids fluttering gently. “Raka…,” she groaned softly, licking her lips with a languid smile. “That… was… amazing….”

Ba’raka grinned at her, a smug “I told you so” look on his face. “The best,” he smirked. She only nodded, eyes still closed in blissful ecstasy. His booming laugh filled the glade and rumbled across the hills and valleys of the twisted forest. “You want me to make you another?” he grinned.

She opened her eyes slowly, giving him an emphatic nod. “Hell yes.”

Simple Lessons (IC - Anabela)

“Six… just six, you’re sure?”

He gave her an incredulous look across the bed. She sat opposite him, one leg pulled up underneath her, one dangling over the edge of the mattress. Her toes just barely scraped the hard metal grating of the bedroom floor as she leaned forward with a reassuring smile. “Well, those are just the formal ones, the ones all Mando’ade are expected to obey.” She put a hand on his knee, rubbing it along his thigh. “There are of course many unspoken rules, but you’ll learn those as you go. These you need to know by heart, you need to live them.”

Tacos - IC - Anabela

She just didn’t get it. She sat there, arms crossed watching him wolf down taco after taco like it was the last meal he was ever going to eat. After the plate was empty of even the last few crumbs, he gave her a saucy grin, wiping his mouth with the sleeve of his shirt. “You sure you don’t want anymore?” he asked, a look of concern in his eyes, “I can have them make you some more.” Anabela just shook her head. One taco was… more than enough.
