Recipe for Home Made Laundry Detergent/Fabric Softener

Home Made Laundry Detergent
Makes 18lbs of Detergent

Ingredients:

1 Box of Super Washing Soda (3lb 7oz)
1 Box of Borax (12lbs 4oz)
1 Box of Pure Baking Soda (4lbs)
3 Bars of Ivory Soap
1 Container of Oxy Clean (1.3lbs)
1 Container of Purex Crystals (28oz)
1 Plastic Bin w/Lid

Directions:

Grate the bars of soap with a cheese grater or food processor until finely grated. Dump all of the ingredients into the bin and stir until well mixed. Use 1-2 tablespoons per load.

Home Made Fabric Softener
Makes 30-40 Loads Worth

Ingredients:

5 Cups of Hot Water
3 Cups of Vinegar
1 Cup of Hair Conditioner
1 Plastic Carafe w/Lid

Directions:

Mix hot water and conditioner together in bowl to smooth out clumps then add the vinegar. Once they are well-mixed, pour into the carafe, seal and date. Use enough per load to fill your washer’s automatic softener dispenser.
